First Fridays are back!

First Fridays make their return to Downtown Mount Vernon!

July First Friday Honors Our Hometown Heroes with the Help of Mount Vernon Strong

July First Friday is all about hometown heroes. Main Street Mount Vernon invites community members and visitors alike to the Central Business District of Mount Vernon for the kick-off event to the Independence Day Weekend.

Great food, live music and family fun for all at the 2021 First Friday season. The season continues with the culmination of our MOUNT VERNON STRONG campaign going right along with the theme for the evening: Honoring Our Hometown Heroes.

Along with a special presentation to recognize the STRONG honorees, July First Friday will feature music from New Park Drive on the Main Stage located on Gambier Street along the South Main Plaza. The secondary stage, located in the COTC parking lot along Ohio Avenue, will feature T-Bone Daddy & Associates, sponsored by The Mount Vernon Grand Hotel. The Knox Foodies Food Truck Trail provided by Knoxpages.com will offer a wide variety of food selections, with even more options than June. The BAM! Activity Zone presented by Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Concepts in Community Living and Mount Vernon Nazarene University Athletics will feature family-friendly activities.

Sponsored by A+ Auto Brokers, the Cruise-In returns to Public Square. Main Street is asking for a $10 donation from participating cars to continue to keep First Fridays as a FREE community event. Each donation will receive a free dash plaque commemorating the Cruise-In, and proceeds will benefit the initiatives of Main Street Mount Vernon to continue to better our downtown.

With over 60 vendors able to sell directly from the streets of downtown there is sure to be something for everyone. Don't forget to stop in to the wonderful retail shops, restaurants and other attractions in Downtown Mount Vernon and support our local merchants!

Media Sponsors include 90.9 WNZR, 13WMVO, and Super Q 93.7.

Traffic will be closed one block north of Public Square, around the Square and on South Main Street down to the Ohio Avenue starting at 4:30 p.m. If you have questions, please contact Downtown Manager Anthony McNeal at 740-393-1481.
