Kudos: An Artist Co-op

Bryant Brothers

kudos
Kudos is an artist co-operative in central Ohio featuring the work of twenty artists. There is a wide range of medium represented in the gallery - glass, sculpture, textiles, paper, clay, furniture, wood, & handmade soap.  Inspired by a two-month long wearable art show sponsored by the Knox County Art League featuring 20 local artists, Kudos opened in 2011.

A typical day at Kudos is always changing, because the co-op artists staff Kudos. They are responsible for being knowledgeable about all artists’ work, make sales, and share cleaning duties. By far the most rewarding thing about working at Kudos is meeting and chatting with their wonderful customers.  There is a lot to know when all items are one of a kind produced by local artists who retain all proceeds from sales except that required for rent, utilities, PR, and supplies.

“Kudos is an amazing place to purchase one of a kind gifts for all occasions ranging in price from $2 to hundreds of dollars,” says Marsha Ernst, shop manager.  “I enjoy the community spirit and cooperative nature of all the downtown shops. Very impressed with the quality and variety of shops and all the cultural events that take place in Mount Vernon.”
